As a singer and vocal coach, catching the common cold and flu is always a major concern. Singing is my living and so vocal health is of prime importance to me. Personally, I'm big on nutrition to support the immune system. I follow a low sugar and gluten free diet as well as a one-meal-a-day plan (most days anyway!) system. I spent the week preparing my new classroom and meeting with colleagues to discuss how to figure out the Covid restrictions to keep kids and staff safe while providing a rich learning environment.

Safeguard your vocal health this fall.

I know that many of you singers who have children reintegrating the school system this week share the same anxiety about sore throats, coughing and vocal loss but tenfold given the current circumstance and the added life threat of Covid.

We are already taking the following action to decrease spreading of viruses:

  1. Wearing masks

  2. Hand washing

  3. Social distancing

Personnally, I'm big on nutrition to support the immune system. I follow a low sugar and gluten free diet as well as a one-meal-a-day plan (most days anyway!).

What else do you do? What are your best tips to keep the flu and Covid away? Is anyone considering getting the flu shot? Are you taking extra vitamins?

These are all things to consider to stay healthy. So be safe!
